Fall has to be my favorite time of year by far…I love everything about it! It’s the time of year I fell in love with my hubby so I think that has something to do with it…BUT, I love it for a million other reasons too: cooler weather, campfire wafting in the air, warm sweaters and UGGS!!!, the excitement of the new school year, and of course, the AMAZING, BEAUTIFUL, VIBRANT leaves that decorate the trees!! So, it’s probably no surprise that it is also my absolute favorite time of year to shoot! I love color and fun I get to have! Here’s just a few of my fall shots from last year. Can’t wait to see what I get to create this fall! Stay tuned…

Yes, you read it right! Why, you might be asking…Well, I am just feeling generous! I love capturing people in love, so why not? And with spring somewhere in our future (I hope!), it’s a great time for it!
So, I have decided to make it a little contest….I want to hear about how you became engaged. Did it happen in front of a huge crowd at a stadium, under a moonlit sky with crickets chirping, during your favorite movie or while eating your favorite meal, or some other creative, romantic way? I want to hear about it. Send it all to me…all the juicy details, along with a photograph of you and your fiance. And, then I want to know why you and your fiance deserve to win more than anyone else. What makes you special and unique? Why should we select you? Please be aware that this might be shared on my blog, so do not write anything you might not want shared with the rest of the internet.
The contest will be judged by a group of local cvillians, I, however, will not judge, as I want to remain neutral. Your fate will remain in their hands. Once a winner is selected I will share the top three stories on my blog before announcing the winner. Winner must be willing to come to Cville for their shoot before 10/2010. Prints will be purchased separately.

Scout is a great way to find all of the wonderful local goods and services Charlottesville has to offer! If you are looking for that perfect piece of jewelery or gift, a great local piece of art to hang in your home or perhaps a great place to dine…Scout Charlottesville is the perfect place to find it! Scout is all about supporting your local vendors, which I LOVE. I mean, Urban Outfitters or Anthropologie are great for some stuff, but if you have the choice, why not support the local shops and help keep our little town thriving! Not to mention, your originallity factor will go up greatly with something purchased locally instead of a big old chain store!! So go on over and give Scout a visit–you can thank me later! Oh, and yes, Scout’s FABULOUS logo was done by a very talented local designer whom I can’t wait to tell you more about, more on her later…
I promise to get back to blogging on a regular basis very soon–it has been a VERY busy winter season for me, which has left me little time and engery for blogging. I have a lot to share from the past couple of months and have a bunch on the horizon that I will be sharing as well. Wow 2009 has been quite a year~fun and full and 2010 does not look like it is going to slow down one bit! Our calendar is already filling up fast~with a few month almost booked out! Please don’t wait to book if you have a date in mind…
I have been especially incredibly busy the past couple of months and have not had a lot of time to catch up on blogging. I have been working with a very cool new publication that will be coming out this spring–which has kept me pretty busy,and I cannot wait to share more about it–trust me…it’s cool! I’ll be sure to post more about it as soon as I can.
I wanted to finish out the year by saying thank you to everyone I have been blessed to work with this year. You all have been wonderful, fun, and AMAZING to work with. I truly love what I do! I put together a little slideshow to documenting the year…enjoy!
I truly am shocked by the fact that I am already starting to book up for 2010…mind boggling! If you are hoping to book anytime during the 2010 year, I would highly reccommend booking sooner rather than later as things are filling up pretty darn fast! I am seriously honored and humbled by this–and of course, super excited to take on another year of fun photo sessions!
I am also really excited to announce that I have been asked to work on a very cool commercial project here in Cville! I can’t say much right now, but, suffice it to say it’s a grrrrreeeaaattt opportunity and will be seen all over Charlottesville–so keep your eyeballs peeled! This will cut in a bit to my regular shooting schedule–so again, please don’t wait if you are interested in booking for next year!
I hope everyone has been enjoying their Thanksgiving holiday–I definitely have been and plan to continue through the weekend! Take care and don’t eat too much pie!
I have lived in several places in my life and must say that Cville is my favorite! I love the curvy country roads, the beautiful vineyards I can get to in a matter of minutes, the abundant cafes I can choose to meet a friend at for lunch, the little boutiques downtown, it’s artistic flair, the fact that it has basically NO traffic, the beautiful blue ridge mountains, and the fact that it’s so full of culture and country at the same time…I could go on and on…seriously, I love it here! And have found many wonderful places that I thoroghly enjoy here!
So, I thought why not share some of these places with you! These may be places you already know about or could be some that are a little off the beaten’ path. They are places that I love to go and enjoy being there not only for the wonderful goods or services they offer, but also because of the wonderful people who work there to make it so pleasant and enjoyable! Whether you are from Cville or are reading this blog from afar, I encourage you to check in every Friday to see what business we are featuring–you never know when you’ll end up in Charlottesville–why not be prepared! So, come take a peek next Friday as we feature our very first business!
